The full catalog imported from the store’s inventory, with collections John builds himself

John Ranco opened Perkins Cove Bookshop in Ogunquit, Maine, and reached out in July 2025 because we’re both members of the Ogunquit Chamber. We met at the shop (we love bookshops!). As a brand new store, he needed a website that could show off his selection, events and personality, and sell books online without creating a pile of extra work.
Brianna modernized John’s existing branding into a cleaner logo and look. We built a custom bookstore shop that imports the catalog from the store’s inventory system, used AI to help write book descriptions and sort titles into categories, and added search, filters, wishlists and customer accounts. John can build his own homepage collections, like “What We’re Reading,” book club picks or a Pride collection in June, and there’s an Events section for readings and signings. Payments run through Stripe and shipping rates through Shippo.
After launch we kept building with him: when a book isn’t in stock, the search now offers it through Bookshop.org so the sale still supports the shop, and we added a Libro.fm audiobooks section. Nic also keeps an eye on the site, catching things like a stuck book import before they become a problem.
A website that feels like walking into the shop. It launched in February 2026, and John has told us the biggest value for him is promoting the physical store, his timely selection, his events and growing his email list, with online sales as a bonus.
