Creating a logo and brand identity package can be a really fun process. It is important to do your research and select an agency whose work speaks to you. You should then have an initial kickoff meeting where you discuss your brand, values, target audience and design preferences.

Often agencies will have a brief for you to fill out, that you will then review together. At that meeting you’ll define the scope, do you just want a logo, or do you want a full branding package? Understanding your final deliverables, timeline and budget is important before getting started.

Here is an example of how our brand identity process works:

Research and Inspiration:

Creare will conduct research to gain inspiration and insights that will inform the design process. We will put together a mood board based on our discussion, and look for images that portray how you indicated you want your brand to be conveyed.

Concept Development:

Based on the design brief and research, we will start developing initial logo concepts. Typically, we provide 3-5 black and white options for you to look at and discuss.

Design Presentations:

Once the logo concepts are presented to you, you’ll have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask for revisions. It’s important for you to be clear about what you like and don’t like so we can make necessary changes.

Iterative Design Process:

We will then refine your favorite concept based on your feedback (or perhaps combine concepts). This may involve multiple rounds of revisions (typically we aim for no more than 3) until you are satisfied with the final logo design.

Secondary Brand Identity Elements:

Once the logo is finalized we will present you with different color palettes. Then we’ll refine other branding elements, such as secondary colors, typography choices, and supporting graphics.

Design Mockups:

Depending on what you are looking for, we may provide mockups to show how the new branding will look in various contexts, such as business cards, letterheads, social media profiles and your website. We’ll also discuss how to use the colors and fonts to meet accessibility standards for all your uses.

Final Deliverables:

Upon approval of the logo and branding elements, Creare will prepare the final deliverables, including vector files of the logo and any other assets specified in the project scope.

Brand Identity Guidelines:

In some cases, we will create a comprehensive brand style guide that outlines logo usage, color codes, typography, and brand tone of voice as well as accepted imagery. This document ensures brand consistency across all materials.
