The new owners of Moondance Jewelry Gallery wanted to create a website that matched the aesthetic and vibe of their brick-and-mortar store on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, California. The client also wanted to have a completely customizable online shopping experience, beyond the scope of what Shopify could offer.
We worked with the client to select standard fonts and colors (brand guidelines) to use throughout all their marketing materials including their website. We then worked with them to create a “jewelry gallery feel” on the front end of their website, similar to how their store looks. WooCommerce was used to drive the ecommerce component. We loaded in hundreds of products, including many one-of-a-kind pieces. For an improved user-experience, filters were created so customers could search based on jewelry type, material, price, stone, etc.
The website was launched right before the COVID-19 pandemic. Our consistent email marketing proved to increase sales online right away as most people shopped from home. Since then it has had fairly steady sales month-to-month, and we’re continually focused on improving marketing and online advertising strategies to further increase sales.
