As I was thumbing through the free weekly Sentinel newspaper that gets delivered to our PO box every Friday, I came across an article about the SMPDC offering free web design & bookkeeping help—a great example of turning feedback into fuel to support small businesses in our community.
We recently worked on a few websites for the SMPDC back in the spring, and we recently got a call from them about new websites. So this article was directly commenting on something Creare was and is directly involved in! Exciting!
As I read, I came across the two quotes by business owners who received grants in the last round.
And guess what?
Both of those business owners are our clients! Here’s what they said:
“I am really happy with the new website. It looks spectacular.” – Susanne Lillis, White Sails Inn
“They helped us create a new site that linked to our POS, took care of all the backend work, and moved over our domain. We’ve doubled our charcuterie board sales since they were able to link them. They’re now easy to find and order. So, all in all, super, super helpful.” – Ian Kern, Nibblesford

I must say, it’s gratifying to hear such great feedback and see that feedback published in the local paper!
In addition to those two websites, we also helped McDougal Orchards in Sanford rebuild their website. For me, the most exciting part of that website was building the fruit database. Users can now go filter all the different fruit they can pick, by type, harvest and tag.
SMPDC is open for another round of funding to more small businesses and non-profits who are seeking help in web design, and we’re proud to be a part of the solution!
