As I sit here writing this, I cannot believe that we are already at the end of 2017. This year has flown by! In the last couple of weeks, I have been working with clients to help them prepare their end-of-year gifts, as well as working on our way of saying thank you to our clients. Along with this, I’ve also been diving into some exciting web design projects, focusing on creating websites that not only look great but also provide a smooth user experience for all. It’s been a busy time, but I’m so grateful for all the amazing clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year.

This year is special because it marks 5 years of not only being in business, but growing in business. Five years ago, when I started Creare, I never would have thought it would grow into the company it is today. A company that our family depends on for our everyday needs, and that so many small businesses across the US depend on for their website needs.

If you are one of those businesses who trust us with your website design, development and management, THANK YOU. We know there are a lot of people and companies out there, and the fact that you selected us is humbling. As I’ve see our business grow year-over-year, I’m always excited, flattered and honored, not only to see the growth, but also to see how many new friends we’ve made and businesses (and organizations) we’ve helped.

The growth hasn’t come easily, and it’s not always pretty. But, I’m proud of it. Whether working normal hours when we have childcare, or working from the hospital after delivering a child, or grabbing hours during swim lessons, naps and after bedtime, I’ve managed to find the time that is needed to get the job done. Why? Because I love what I do.

Web Design Changes.

This year, we’ve seen a lot of changes in the web design and web development world, as we see every year. Mobile has had even more of a focus, as everyone is constantly on the go. Google has cracked down on rankings, penalizing you by dropping your search results if your site isn’t optimized for mobile. Page load time has become a large indicator of how well you will rank, and good, clean code and proper image hosting help you there.

From a design standpoint you’ve seen a bit of a move away from the “standard” navigation across the top to either keeping a pancake with a slide-out menu on all devices or having a left side navigation, there have been changes in how we “use” websites, and so how we also design them.

For our website, I wanted to play with “blocks” and so used that concept in putting together our left side navigation and the way we wrote the content for the various pages, so it would all work together. I enjoy reading up on industry happenings, trends, etc., and I love working with clients to bring their ideas and visions to life, and to marry what they want with a design that will help take their business to the next level.

Thank you.

So, since we are in the season of thanks, I want to say thank you to each of you for trusting Nic and I with your business needs, and allowing us to provide you with our expertise and recommendations so that we can help your business grow. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and wish you a very happy and healthy 2018.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can good web design impact my website’s search engine rankings?

Good web design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s also about functionality. For example, Google now penalizes websites that aren’t optimized for mobile. A responsive web design ensures that your website functions well on any device, which can help maintain or improve your search engine rankings. Additionally, proper page load times, clean code, and optimized images are important for SEO, all of which are key elements of our web design services.

How does web design affect my website’s user experience?

Web design directly impacts user experience (UX). A clean, intuitive design allows visitors to easily navigate your site and find what they’re looking for. Elements like navigation style, mobile responsiveness, and the loading speed of pages are all factors that influence the overall experience. At Creare, we tailor our web design to make sure your site not only looks great but is also functional and user-friendly.

What are the latest trends in web design for 2018?

As web design continues to evolve, staying up to date with the latest trends is crucial. In 2018, mobile-first design became a major focus, especially with Google’s mobile optimization requirements. We’ve also seen shifts in navigation, with more websites opting for slide-out menus or left-side navigation to improve mobile usability. These trends ensure that your website provides a seamless experience across all devices.
